    The Freedom Area School District, a small rural community located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, is seeking a highly qualified, ethical, and visionary leader as its next Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will assume the responsibilities of the position on/about July 1, 2021. The award-winning School District consists of approximately 1,250 students housed in a three-building campus serving Conway Borough, Freedom Borough and New Sewickley Township. An actively engaged, supportive community, a highly skilled and deeply committed staff and a budget of $24M provide the underpinning for the highly progressive learning environment. The desired candidate must possess experience in achieving high academic performance, sound school finance and business management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, culture/relationship building leadership skills, and experience with development and implementation of curriculum. In addition, the candidate should be a proactive and creative out of the box strategic thinker and problem solver who is committed to staff/community engagement and involvement.

Additionally, candidates must have central office experience with preference being provided to individuals with Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent experience.     BUSINESS MANAGER

    Seeking Business Administrator to manage fiscal activities and operations. Must be knowledgeable in budgeting, financial planning, cash management, federal and state reporting requirements related to school funding, fund accounting, bidding, negotiations, facilities, child accounting, and school construction. Responsibilities include payroll, employee benefits, purchasing, insurance, investments, and accounting. Prior supervisory and accounting experience required. Bachelors required. Accounting degree strongly preferred; Masters or CPA preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public school finances required. Must be bondable.

    Day-to-Day Substitute Positions

    Freedom School District has partnered with Kelly Educational Staffing (KES) to provide day-to-day and long-term substitute teachers and paraprofessionals.

     Minimum Requirements:

    PA state clearances, Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training, and TB test results  

    Day to Day Substitute Teachers: $125.00/day

    Long-Term Substitute Teachers (20 + days): $135.00/day

    Active PA teaching certificates, inactive teaching certifications, or ACT 86 for college students with 60+ credits in education will be accepted. If you or someone you know holds a Bachelor’s degree, contact the local Kelly branch to learn more about emergency certification.

    Paraprofessionals: $12/hour
