CUSTODIAN POSITIONS
The Freedom Area School District is currently accepting applications for custodian positions that are open and anticipated due to upcoming retirements. The part-time custodian position offers a pay rate of $17.36 per hour, while substitute positions start at $17.00 an hour. 8th GRADE SCIENCE TEACHER
Freedom Area Middle School has an opening for an 8th-grade science teacher
beginning with the 2024-25 school year. Applicants must have one of the
following certifications: General Science 7-12, Biology 7-12, or Mid-Level
Science 6-9. Candidates must have exemplary communication skills as well
as the ability to engage and connect with all students. The successful
candidate will work collaboratively on interdisciplinary and departmental
teams.

? Up to four (4) Certified Special Education Teachers to provide up to
Fourteen (14) Hours of ESY Academic Instruction per Week for Three (3)
Weeks of ESY Services

? Two (2) Certified Speech Therapists to Provide One (1) Hour of Speech
Therapy per Week for Three (3) Weeks of ESY Services

? Four (4) Paraprofessionals to work with students for up to Fourteen (14)
Hours per Week for Three (3) Weeks of ESY Services

? One (1) Certified School Nurse to work in the Elementary Schools for up
to Fourteen (14) Hours per Week for Three (3) Weeks of ESY Services

? Four (4) Personal Care Aides to work with Individual Students for up to
Fourteen (14) Hours per Week for Three (3) Weeks of ESY

? Two (2) Personal Care Assistants/Aides to work with Individual Students

HEAD VARSITY BOYS’ BASKETBALL COACH
Freedom Area High School is seeking applications for the position of HEAD
VARSITY BOYS’ BASKETBALL COACH. Applicants should possess strong basketball knowledge and the ability to motivate/develop student athletes. Head
Varsity coaching experience is preferred.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS


Day-to-Day Substitute Positions

Freedom School District has partnered with ESS to provide day-to-day and long-term substitute teachers and paraprofessionals.

Minimum Requirements:

PA state clearances, Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training, and TB test results  

Day to Day Substitute Teachers: $125.00/day

Long-Term Substitute Teachers (20 + days): $135.00/day

Active PA teaching certificates, inactive teaching certifications, or ACT 86 for college students with 60+ credits in education will be accepted. If you or someone you know holds a Bachelor’s degree, contact the local Kelly branch to learn more about emergency certification.

Paraprofessionals: $16/hour
