*Diane Workman began her career in education in 1980 as a special education teacher in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Since that time, she has held many positions in Anne Arundel and Calvert County Public Schools, serving as a teacher specialist, building level administrator, Director of Special Education. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for Calvert County Public Schools. *

*Ms. Workman received her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Bloomsburg State College, a Master’s Degree in Education as a Reading Specialist from Towson University and a certificate in Educational Administration and Supervision from Bowie State University. She is currently completing requirements for the Superintendent Letter of Eligibility at California University of PA. *

*Ms. Workman has two children. Her daughter Kelli lives in Cranberry. Her son, Chris lives in Harwood, Maryland with her two grandchildren.*

*Ms. Workman looks forward to working with the Freedom staff, students, parents/guardians and community members. *

Future Ready Comprehensive Plan (DRAFT)

As required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Freedom Area School District has completed the process of updating its Future Ready Comprehensive Plan. This 3-year plan outlines the 3 priorities for the district:

  • To review and revise all K – 12 curriculum
  • To increase student achievement
  • To improve community engagement

Comprehensive Plan

The Freedom Area School District has updated its Comprehensive Plan. The new 6-year plan will be in effect from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2024. This plan includes a review of strategies and goals that will be utilized by the Board of School Directors and administration to improve upon the academic achievement of all students, as well as to continue the effective
