The Freedom Area School District mourns the passing of Robert J. Cercone, a dedicated educator and leader who served our schools for over 50 years. As a teacher, principal, curriculum director, and ultimately, Superintendent for 31 years, Mr. Cercone was a visionary who championed educational excellence, innovation, and equity. His leadership brought groundbreaking programs, financial stability, and a deep commitment to students and staff. His impact on Freedom’s schools and community will be felt for generations.
